Waterproof coating and polyurea waterproofing

Rayson waterproof coatings sold direct across Malaysia: SealForce AC10 acrylic for roofs and walls, RC40 polyurea for flat roofs and decks, WB20 for wet areas.

We reply within one working day, Monday to Friday.

Supplied across Malaysia through Epovex Coatings Sdn. Bhd. Rayson-authorised applicators in Johor, Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, and Penang.

What is polyurea waterproofing?

Polyurea waterproofing is a two-part liquid membrane that cures into a tough, elastic, seamless film. Rayson SealForce RC40 is an aliphatic polyurea applied cold, by roller, brush or spray, without the heated rig spray polyurea needs, and it stays UV-stable and walkable on exposed roofs.

Before you choose

Acrylic or polyurea: which waterproof coating for my roof?

SealForce AC10 acrylic for roofs that drain freely, old clay and concrete tiles and external walls; its data sheet rules out long-term ponding and direct foot traffic. SealForce RC40 polyurea for flat roofs, porch roofs and decks that people walk on: UV-stable, walkable, with certified cool-roof reflectance.

On metal, AC10 goes over an anti-corrosion primer, with fleece bedded in at the laps; RC40 takes the primer its data sheet names for the substrate. Where a roof has both a pitched part and a flat deck, each takes its own system.

How much coating do I need?

SealForce AC10: about 0.68 kg/m² a coat, so a 20 kg pail covers about 14 m² at two coats, or 9 m² at three coats with fleece. SealForce RC40: 1 to 1.2 kg/m² over two layers, so a 21 kg set covers about 17 to 21 m² and a 5.25 kg set about 4 to 5 m². SealForce WB20: a 20 kg pail covers about 18 m² at two coats.

SealForce AP05 primer goes on at 0.1 to 0.3 kg/m², so one 20 kg pail primes about 65 to 200 m² depending on how porous the surface is. Give the area when you order and Rayson works out the pails and sets.

Can I apply it myself?

On a small porch roof, a balcony or a wall you can reach safely, with the data sheet in hand, yes. The surface must be dry (AC10 at most 6% moisture, RC40 below 4%), the weather settled, and cracks that move reinforced with fleece.

A large roof, a leak whose cause you have not found, or a roof you cannot work on safely is better traced and done by a Rayson-authorised applicator, who warrants the workmanship.

Can a waterproof coating stop a wall from seeping?

Rain driven through an external wall, yes: SealForce AC10 goes on brick, render and concrete walls over AP05 primer. Damp rising from the ground, or water pushing from behind a basement wall, no: these coatings are not made for rising moisture or negative water pressure.

Where the water comes from a wet area behind the wall, that room is re-waterproofed with WB20 instead. The applicator traces the source before anything is coated.

Do it yourself?

When the material alone is enough

  • A small porch roof, balcony or wall you can reach safely
  • A few dry days for the coats to cure
  • A sound surface: no hollow screed, and no leak you have not traced
  • Someone who will follow the data sheet, coat by coat
Where it goes wrong

Why it fails, and when to call the applicator

  • Coated over a damp roof, so the film blisters
  • Cracks that move left without fleece
  • Outlets and upstands coated last, so water gets in at the edges
  • Acrylic on a roof that ponds, or under foot traffic it was not made for
How to apply it

Step by step, from the data sheets

  1. Find and fix the cause

Trace the leak first; repair cracks, hollow screed and falls; clear the outlets.

  2. Prime

SealForce AP05 under AC10 on concrete, render, brick and tiles, dry when it turns clear, in about 30 minutes; an anti-corrosion primer on metal; RC40 over the primer its data sheet names.

  3. Detail, then coat

Fleece into the first coat at moving cracks and joints, upstands, outlets and penetrations before the open areas; AC10 in two coats 4 to 8 hours apart; RC40 in at least two layers, each under 1 kg/m².

  4. Cure and check

Keep it dry until each coat has dried; RC40 resists early rain after three hours and hardens fully in about seven days. Check the roof after the next heavy rain.

How to order

Three details are enough to order

  1. The surface, wide: roof, porch roof, balcony, wall or toilet
  2. The area in m² or sq ft, and whether people walk on it
  3. Your town, for delivery

What it costs

What does waterproof coating cost?

Materials are quoted per order, by the pail or set: tell Rayson the surface and the area, and you get the product, the number of pails or sets, the coverage and the price, with supply and delivery confirmed for your order. Applied by a Rayson-authorised applicator, it is quoted per square foot after inspection instead. Rayson publishes no price list.

Who stands behind the job

  • Rayson makes the materials and supplies them in Malaysia through Epovex Coatings Sdn. Bhd., with the data sheets; supply and delivery are confirmed for each order.
  • You or your contractor apply it to the data sheet. Or the Rayson-authorised applicator for your area, an independent company, quotes, installs and warrants the workmanship.
  • Rayson warrants the material; it is not the installer and is not a party to an installation contract.

The Rayson difference

An installer buys whatever is on the shelf. A Rayson-authorised applicator installs what Rayson makes.

01

The maker writes the specification

The system is specified by the company that makes the material, and installed by an independent applicator Rayson has authorised, not chosen from whatever a supplier had on the shelf that week.

02

A data sheet for every layer

Every Rayson material on your floor or roof has a published technical data sheet. You can read what went in, and so can your consultant.

03

Two warranties, two companies

Rayson warrants the material as its maker. The authorised applicator, an independent company that contracts with you, warrants the workmanship. Each warranty is issued by the company responsible for it.

04

Same materials on both sides of the Causeway

The products, data sheets and application methods are the ones Rayson publishes in Singapore. Nothing is rebadged for Malaysia.

05

Materials direct, for your own crew

Contractors and facility teams buy the same materials direct from the maker, with application guidance. The applicator is there when you want the job done for you.

Questions people ask

Can I buy SealForce coatings now?

Yes. Order through Rayson Malaysia (Epovex Coatings Sdn. Bhd.) by WhatsApp or the form; supply and delivery are confirmed for each order, with the data sheets.

Is it the same as the roof paint sold in hardware shops?

No. Roof paint is a decorative film; SealForce AC10 and RC40 are waterproofing membranes built to a set film thickness, with fleece at the cracks that move and the outlets detailed first.

Can the coating go over my old membrane?

Often, yes. RC40 lists sound bitumen membranes, PVC and TPO single-ply and old liquid membranes among its substrates; AC10 goes over sound, firmly bonded existing coatings after a trial area. Loose or blistered membrane comes off first.

Who gives the warranty?

Rayson warrants the material as its maker when it is applied to the data sheet. A do-it-yourself job carries no workmanship warranty; an applicator’s job does.
