How it comes together

One enquiry. Three specialists.

A decorative floor is only as good as what is under it, so every job joins three companies, each standing behind its own part.

  1. 01 · IFS

    The look

IFS supplies the finish: MicroCrete® microcement, Japanese terrazzo, stone carpet, metallic and flake epoxy, or a polished concrete overlay.

  2. 02 · Rayson

    The base

Rayson makes and specifies what goes underneath: SealForce waterproofing in wet areas and on porch roofs, PrimeBond primer on floors, each with a published data sheet.

  3. 03 · Applicator

    The installation

An independent, Rayson-authorised applicator in your area, in Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, or Penang, contracts with you, inspects, quotes, installs and warrants the workmanship.

You make one enquiry to Rayson. Rayson brings the finish, the base and the applicator together; Rayson is not the installer and is not a party to the installation contract.

Set the
tone.

Three moods. One place to begin.

Quiet colour. Subtle detail.

A fine aggregate look for a calm, understated interior.

Let the pattern speak.

Larger fragments bring a more expressive rhythm to the surface.

Warmth, from the ground up.

Earthy tones create an inviting backdrop for timber and natural light.

How you get your finish

Your finish,
made clear.

Three decisions before work begins.

  1. 01 / Your brief

    Show us your space.

Send three photos: the room, the existing surface and a look you love. Add your location, approximate area and target date.

  2. 02 / The sample board

    See it. Feel it. Choose.

Discuss colour and texture on a physical sample. Any proposed IFS finish over Rayson layers needs a sample-board trial before confirmation.

  3. 03 / The written plan

    Agree the details.

The independent applicator checks the site and quotes per square foot. Agree preparation, the finish, timing and warranty responsibilities before work starts.

Then, on site

  1. Prepare
  2. Apply
  3. Cure
  4. Handover

Your applicator confirms the installation and curing schedule, care guidance and workmanship warranty. IFS and Rayson each provide terms for their own materials.

Clear responsibilities

Each layer.
The right expertise.

The decorative finish

Industrial Floor & Systems Pte. Ltd (IFS) provides the named partner range: MicroCrete® microcement, Japanese terrazzo, stone carpet, Metallic Epoxy, Epoxy Flake Lining and polished concrete overlay. IFS finishes carry IFS’s own material terms; they are not Rayson products.

Rayson materials

Rayson specifies, supplies and warrants its own materials. Any proposed combined Rayson and IFS build-up requires sample-board trials before confirmation.

Independent installation

The independent authorised applicator contracts with you, quotes, invoices and warrants the workmanship. Rayson is not the installer and is not a party to the installation contract.

The practical details

Questions about decorative finishes.

Are IFS finishes Rayson products?

No. The decorative finishes come from the partner range of Industrial Floor & Systems Pte. Ltd (IFS) and carry IFS’s own material terms. The layers underneath, such as waterproofing membranes and primers, are Rayson materials with published technical data sheets.

What is MicroCrete®?

MicroCrete® is IFS’s microcement: a thin, cement-based coating for floors, walls and other surfaces that gives a seamless finish. IFS describes it as resistant to stains, scratches and moisture, and able to go over existing concrete, tile or wood.

What is Japanese terrazzo?

IFS’s collection of terrazzo products made in Japan: chips of marble or granite set in a binder, poured in place and polished smooth, so the floor has no grout lines, chosen for durability, low maintenance and design choice.

Who installs the finish and who warrants the work?

An independent, Rayson-authorised applicator in your area, in Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, or Penang, contracts with you, inspects, quotes, installs and warrants the workmanship. Rayson warrants Rayson materials and is not the installer or a party to the installation contract.

Where are the IFS finishes installed?

In Johor, around Johor Bahru and in Muar, Batu Pahat and Yong Peng; in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, including Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Subang Jaya; and in Penang, island and mainland, each by the Rayson-authorised applicator for the area. Elsewhere is confirmed per enquiry.

Can microcement go in a bathroom or shower?

Yes, on walls and floors, with a waterproofing membrane underneath. Microcement is a finish, not a membrane: the applicator installs Rayson SealForce WB20 and flood-tests it first. The combined build-up is confirmed on a sample board before your job.

Can decorative finishes go over existing tiles?

Microcement, metallic epoxy and the concrete overlay can go over tiles that are still firmly bonded, with a bonding primer; loose tiles come out first. For terrazzo and stone carpet, the applicator checks the floor base before proposing a method.

Can I see a finish before I choose?

Yes, on a sample board: colour and texture are chosen on a board, and the build-up over your surface is confirmed on it before the job starts.

How much do decorative finishes cost in Malaysia?

They are quoted per square foot after inspection, because the existing surface, the chosen finish and whether a waterproofing membrane is needed decide the cost. Rayson publishes no price list.
