Best for

Best for priming floors in occupied buildings — offices, schools and retail — where low odour and single-pack simplicity matter.

PrimeBond W10 is the low-odour entry point to Rayson floor systems. Supplied ready to use in a single pack, it needs no weighing or ratio mixing — stir for two minutes and apply by brush or roller. It seals smooth concrete and mineral substrates and provides the bond for Rayson water-based urethane topcoats.

The water-based acrylic formulation is low in VOCs and low odour, so it suits occupied buildings, night works and holiday programmes in schools where solvent products are ruled out. For anti-slip build-ups, a fine aggregate can be broadcast into the wet primer to key the finish coats.

Preliminary system testing over this primer records adhesion of at least 1.3 N/mm² on pre-treated substrates — figures that will be confirmed for Rayson formulations during technical review.

The practical details

Rayson PrimeBond W10: questions people ask

Is PrimeBond W10 suitable for occupied buildings?

Yes — it is water-based, low VOC and low odour, which is exactly the situation it is designed for. Normal housekeeping around wet coatings still applies.

Does it need mixing with a hardener?

No. It is a single-component product supplied ready to use; just stir thoroughly for about two minutes before application.

How do I build an anti-slip finish from this primer?

Broadcast a fine aggregate into the wet primer, sweep off the excess once dry, then seal with UraForce WB52 topcoat. The aggregate grade sets the texture — our technical team can advise on the right grade for your cleaning regime.

How porous can the substrate be?

Coverage varies from roughly 5 to 10 m² per litre with porosity; very absorbent screeds may need a second priming coat to achieve a full seal.

Can it go straight over a power-floated slab?

The slab still needs mechanical preparation to remove laitance and open the surface — priming is not a substitute for preparation.
